Brand New Artist Designed Railway Station Apartments in North Wales

One Off Places is thrilled to announce the launch of Alpine Apartments, three stylish apartments housed in a former railway station in the Snowdonian town of Betws-y-Coed.  Artistic and innovative, restful and wonderfully snug, the Alpine Apartments are the ultimate hideaway from which to discover this exceptionally lovely corner of Wales.

There are three apartments, each designed by the artist Jacha Potgieter to create a little bit of magic.  Climb the stairs, turn the key and you’ll find exotic spaces of richly different hues, filled with innovative design, artistic touches and plenty of surprises. There are scallop-edged metalware surfaces and original artworks. There are touches of fun (seek out the gnomes and spot, if you can, the tiny metal faces worked into the sides of sinks). There are seams of modernity, including polished and sealed concrete floors. And there are elegant antiques, among them burnished old pine chapel chairs.

Apt-1-Bedroom

Tabitha Symonds, founder and director of oneoffplaces.co.uk, said of this brand new addition to the portfolio; ` If you want to explore the Welsh wilderness from the comfort of a cosy and luxurious bolthole, look no further. These characterful apartments offer a unique and stylish boutique self-catering experience in a stunning part of the world.`

Apt-2-Lounge-wide

Built in the 1860s in Gothic revival style, the station at Betws-y-Coed became one of the most iconic buildings in Wales.  After falling into disrepair, the station buildings have been preserved and sympathetically restored to include shops, a cafe, and now these holiday apartments.  There is a one bedroom apartment – an idyllic hideaway for honeymooners and adventurers alike – and two apartments each with three bedrooms allowing groups of up to six people a base from which to explore the high peaks and rocky grandeur of Snowdonia.
